If you talk to my children, both of them will tell you that they are not partial to clowns. Has either of them ever been attacked or mistreated in any way by a clown? The answer would have to be “no”. But, ask them if they like clowns and both with give the same answer. The question is why? Again, I am not partial to thrillers. I am one of those people who take something in, mull it over, and regurgitate it in my dreams or nightmares. Thus, I do not like to watch movies that might come back to haunt me in my dreams.
Just from watching the trailer, I can be fairly certain that I would not rest well after watching this movie. In addition, I think it justifies many people’s inordinate fear of clowns, whether they have literally been scared by them or not. You will have to decide for yourself, but let me give you the premise of the movie, based on the trailer I viewed.
Brothers convince a sibling to go to the circus with them. As predicted, the younger brother has a fear of clowns. But, he is assured everything will be alright and his fears have no real foundation. So, off they troupe to the circus.
Well, you can probably guess what happens next. The young man gets the attention of 3 clowns in particular. Of course, these particular representatives of the profession are unsavory. After witnessing murders by these 3 clowns, the brothers are no longer safe. The clowns are not chained to the circus tent. If fact, they are going to make sure there are no witnesses and home is no longer a place of refuge.
