Depending on the software used to copy movies and place them online, you may have to download Quicktime movie player to see a particular film. Fortunately, the program can easily be found on the Internet free of charge for patrons who have visited a site that requires this particular option to see a motion picture- especially the oldies but goodies.

Personally, one of my favorite sites for seeing some of the good old films is Emol.org. Although some people will pass it by, once they discover a lot of the pictures are in black and white, careful perusal reveals a lot of classic movies. If given the chance, most individuals would soon forget it is not in color, once the storyline catches hold.

I like some of these older pictures because they did not depend on all the special effects and other bells and whistles to make the film great. Instead, it took good writers and actors to make a story come to life and capture the attention of the audience.

Sometimes, I believe all of our advances have led to a disregard of a true art form. When many of these older pictures came out, people were poor and struggling to make ends meet. Going to the movies was a real treat. Oftentimes, it was also a means of escaping the realities of war. Thus, when people went to the movies, it really meant something.

In turn, I wonder if the writers and actors also took their craft more seriously. Of course, it was impossible to use computer technology and other special aids to give the picture that little something extra at the box office. It is solely up to real talent to make or break months or years of work.

So, maybe you will have to endure a black and white film. Maybe it will not have tons of special effects. But, it will definitely showcase the talents of a lot of people who worked hard to bring a little entertainment, especially during a time when folks had so much to worry about in everyday life. Chances are you will be in for a treat when you download Quicktime movie player and see one of the oldies but goodies.
