best movie star of today? : Movie Stars

who would you say is the best movie star today then? i am not talking about the hottest or the best looking. i am talking about the best actual actor or actress. who do you think can play any character to a believable level? i am curious to know what you all think cause we are so often caught up in how everyone looks and this often seems to override talent. so what do you think??

Wow, thats an extremely hard question!
I have to go with Christian bale though, his performance in Batman begins and 3:10 to yuma is outstanding!
Johnny depp is also magnificent in sweeney todd too.

It is indeed a tough question..i would say adam sandler...will smith....these two actors are versatile...even though they do mostly one type of movie....comedy and action.....but i see great talents in them and they still rule the boxoffice....

The question is kinda broad. I'm sure there's a difference between best star and best actor, the last one for me could be Al Pacino or Robert DeNiro.
