If there is one area of our lives which has been positively affected by the internet more than anything else, it is related to movie downloads. I'm not sure there's even 80,000,000 movies in existence. Maybe movies, tv shows, documentaries, etc. If you count all them. But the worst part is, for me at least, because I'm from Australia - most of the pay-par-view services aren't even available to me! It's ridiculous. I can't even pay to watch something online. Also, I think youtube and online flash video was around a long time before video podcasts were ever popular...

but, downloading movies online does have the small chance of being caught and getting a HUGE fine. If you get caught, the fine is $1000 or more per movie. It's not worth the risk when you can often get them for as little as $5 or less on previously viewed DVDs at your local video store. I've even seen new ones priced at $5 or less. A friend of mine was caught downloading movies on the internet. she was fined $250,000. if it had been more than one movie, she could have also gotten 5 years in prison.

There are a lot of links for movie downloads online. You can go with the more comercial, like http://www.Netflix.com or superpass.real.com; or there are some other good site like http://www.moviesanddownloads.com. Some sites have a one time membership fee, others are free. It just depends on what you are looking for. But usually even the ones you have to pay a small fee for, end up being worth it in the long run. When large chain movie rental stores are charging $5 or more to rent one movie, a one time fee for unlimited acess isn't so bad if you really think about it. Hope this helps!
