I was curious to what people would think their most controversial movie to them would be. So, give your opinions, of what movie is your most controversial one.

Here is a link to a website, it has a top 25 for their most controversial movies. This could help you get an idea of what controversial movies are and maybe find one that you forgot all about.

I will start it,

I would have to say, that A Clockwork Orange would be my most controversial movie, even though I like the movie. It had some disturbing parts with the rape scenes and also the humor behind their actions. Also, the ways some songs were used in the rape scenes. It didn't just cause effect while watching it, but caused copycat crimes in the United Kingdom that started an uproar. This movie has to be one the top controversial movies on anyone's list that has watched it completely.

I saw A Clockwork Orange under its X rating on original release and believe me- it was not a popular film in my small town America. I thought it was brilliant.

That is a pretty mainstream list- many of them were controversial in their day but are perhaps no longer viewed as such. Freaks, Warriors, and so on.

And I don't understand controversy in The DaVinci Code at all??

I would submit "Zoo" as my pick.
This 2007 Robinson Devor film about bestiality is oddly compelling. It's a horrific topic- incomprehensible really. Yet the film manages to be almost lyrical purely due to the breathtaking cinematography and musical score. There is very little mention of the nature of beastiality at all, and I understand anyones reluctance to view it when the topic is all they have to go by. But as a documentary about a group of fringe society that next to no one understands it does a beautiful job of humanizing them.

Interesting topic! The Last Tango in Paris was weird. I thought FREAKS had a very bizarre theme and it left an impression on me with that shocking ending that I will never forget! I am still in  from the visuals and the characters of that film.

I'm surprised that "Eyes Wide Shut" didn't make it to the list.

I would have to say United 93. I haven't watched it but then, I don't want to either. I remember that day too well and I can't watch a movie about that doomed flight. I imagine a lot of other people feel the same way. I've never watched A Clockwork Orange but I've heard it's awful.

Hands down, the winner is number seven on ew's list; Birth of a Nation. Not just because of the outrageous subject matter (blatant promotion of the KKK, white supremacy, etc.), but it was the first real "blockbuster" and set many cinematic firsts. It is hard to make a modern day comparison, but picture Stephen Spielberg and George Lucas getting two hundred million dollars together to make a film with Star Wars meets the Matrix style special effects all glorifying the most offensive material you can dream up -That was Birth of a Nation. We'll never see a movie like that again.

Im shocked that American Beauty didnt make the cut, with the scenes portraying a minor and such. Although it was a very good movie but alot of people would be controversial about it. If you have seen it, then you know its a good movie, just a little weird in some parts.
