| Do you think that M. Night's career may be coming to an end? I was blown away by the 6th sense, but everything else seems lackluster to me. Has anyone seen "The Happening"? It looked good but didn't get very good reviews in my local paper. What do you think his best/worst films are?
The Sixth Sense was an awsome movie, as previously stated.
I did happen to go and watch the Happening, it was ok. Granted it was alot better than some of his other stuff like Lady in the Water but it was still only ok. The story is pretty cool but he doesn't do as much as he could with it.
I haven't seen "The Happening" but it does look interesting. That's the problem with his movies though.....I really liked "Sixth Sense" as it had a terrific ending. I liked "The Village" until the ending, which I thought was kind of lame and disappointing. It's almost as if, well, I'll wait until his stuff comes out on dvd or I can get it on demand or something because I don't want to pay to see it in a theater anymore, ya know? Just because there's that chance of being bummed with the endings.
Well this one is a very tough call here. I think that there have been plenty of good movies he has done since the Sixth Sense. Just because one person does not seem to understand newer movies does not mean that they are not good movies. We all understand each of us has our own opinion on this topic and hopefully we all respect each other on this one.
"The Happening" kept us on the edge of our seats, until we realized, there was no big bang coming. This was a great cast, and great movie, but 5 of us went to see it, and we all were just waiting for something more. M.Night seems to be good at the unusual stories still, but hes not delivering the hook he once had. Its too bad, cause I totally agree with Butterfly27.7 , he could have done so much with that movie and it just fell flat.

The problem with M. Night is he started with his masterpiece and everything else just doesn't live up to The Sixth Sense. Everyone I know enjoyed that movie and was blown away by the ending. His latest movie, The Happening, was ok, but as someone else pointed out it lacked that surprise ending that almost all of his other movies have.
Anyway, I don't think his career is over, I just think he'll never again make anything on the same level as The Sixth Sense.
