I don't know how anyone can dislike Robin Williams as an actor. He's come a long way from Mork and Mindy. One of my all time favorite movies is the spectacular What Dreams May Come and yet when I mention it to people they say they've never heard of it! I don't know why it slipped past so many people's radars.

He's just as comfortable in a role as a murderer or as a husband or doctor and I think that's what I like about him most, his versatility. But I know others who wouldn't watch anything he's in, dismissing him as "that comedian." I mean really, how many years ago did he do stand up?! Just for the record, I liked him then too.

i would have to agree with you. i think that he is a great actor. i thought he was just a comedy actor till i saw awakenings (i think that is what it was called) where he plays the doctor and as you say he was just as good in this role. although i must say i think comedy roles are his natural home.

I think Robin Williams is an extraordinary actor. I loved him in Good Morning Vietnam. That was one of his earlier movies. I have never heard of What Dreams May Come but I will have to check it out. He was funny in Mrs. Doubtfire and RV. Oh and Night At The Museum was a great movie for him too.

I used to like him back when he did cleaner movies. I got used to him being the family movie actor for a while and then when he started staring in more racier movies it turned me off. It was like watching someone you really look up to rob an old lady or something. But that is just me.

I have always been a huge Robin Williams fan. I can honestly say I don't believe any other actor out there could've pulled off the lead role in "Mrs. Doubtfire" the way he did. Even though that movie is fairly old now, my family still love watching it over and over and we never get tired of it.

Robin Williams has always been one of my favorite actors, if not my most favorite.

He was brilliant in Mrs. Doubtfire. I've always thought I'd like to try that, should my wife ever tell me to leave.

Probably my favorite Williams movie is Patch Adams. You know, that's based on a true story, and the real Patch Adams runs a free clinic in Virginia somewhere.

Robin Williams has always been a favorite of mine since the days of Mork and Mindy. I'm just so amazed at how his mind works so quickly and how he can change from one character to the next so quickly. Some people say it's a sign of some kind of mental illness, but he is still talented. I loved him in Good Morning Vietnam and he was hilarious as the genie in Aladdin.

Oh My God.. I like Robin Williams so much... I watch almost all of the movies he starred like Mrs. Doubtfire, Patch Adams, Jack... where he played as the main character of the movie. Lately he's no longer become the main characters in the movies he starred, like in "License to wed" with Mandy Moore, or in "August Rush" as a wicked street musician.

Talk about range. So many people think of Robin Williams as just a comedian, but the man has more range than damn near any actor I can think of. He's played just about everything I can think of and never once have I watched one of his movies and thought 'he didn't pull that role off'.

I think Robin Williams is an awesome actor and a hilarious comedian. What Dreams May Come was an awesome movie and if you like Robin Williams you have to see it. I also loved him in Patch Adams and he is a pretty good psychopath in Insomnia.
