When I clicked the link I knew that The Exorcist was going to be number 1. I know that everyone else thinks that movie is the scariest movie ever, but I completely disagree. When I saw it was was just bored. Maybe I'm hard to scare or maybe it was because it was super old by the time I watched it, but I was very disappointed in the movie after all the hype it gets. The think the same thing about The Blair Which Project - not scary, boring.

I honestly think House on Haunted Hill (number 27) was a much scarier movie. Or at least the remake since I haven't seen the original.

Freddie Krueger gets me every time. The pacing in that movie was superb. It's been years since I saw it, and I can still remember that squeal, and that "fake" ending :)

I'm surprised they left of Jason Vorhees ("Friday the 13th.") I'm sure it was a lot scarier than "Gremlins" ("Gremlins" was scary ?)

My room is terrified of Freddie Kruegar. She's 25 years old and still has nightmares about him. She tends to talk in her sleep, and once she even tried to crawl her way out of a 'coffin' after having a nightmare staring him. I don't think I've even had a nightmare from watching any movies, has anyone else?

I'm pretty easily spooked. The Ring scared the hell out of me! But Blair Witch? Even that one didn't scare me.

I can't even find it in video stores anymore, but when it came out seven years ago or so, The Haunting was one of my favorite scary movies. I find most horror movies too predictable to be scary, but one that I will never forget is, ironically, a PG-rated Disney movie called Watcher in the Woods. It seemed really creepy. Halloween used to be good until they made seven of them, and then the series got too predictable.

I agree with most on the list as being really memorable scary films, except 'Blair Witch' which didn't creep me out in the least bit. And well 'Gremlins' was more comedy than horror but it was fun to watch. I'd say 'The Shining' scared the heck out of me totally because of the psychological horror elements- that is the best sort , the horror of the mind. Whenever there is a snowstorm and being alone at home makes me remember that movie.

I would have to say, that the scariest movie to me, was Child's Play. I was at a young age when I watched the movie, and the fear was built up more, since my father liked to scare me when watching the movie. I can watch the movie know and not be scared by it, but it has to be one of the scariest movies to me.
