| Okay I got one for you guys. What is the most unusual movie that you have seen ? Anything that was bizarre, strange, or crazy. If i had to choose I would probaly say Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. This is the first time I can say Johnny Depp looked kind of creepy.
The first movie that comes to mind is "Calvaire", which is a Belgian movie about a cabaret singer whose car breaks down in the woods, and his "good samaritan" host is actually a psychopath. It was a very disturbing film, my husband couldn't even watch the whole thing with me, he had to get up and leave! Don't be afraid of foreign films, there is a whole world out there!
One unusual movie I saw was called "The Trip to Bountiful." It is not creepy or weird, but certainly not something you will often see, especially today. Movies seem to prefer young and handsome characters, and here the heroine is an old lady. She lives with her adult son and his wife, who take her Social Security checks from her. Her dream is to go visit Bountiful - the town where she grew up. But the son thinks it's a silly fancy, and he won't take her there. So once in a while, the old lady scrapes up some money and runs away... And we get to watch her on one such trip.
The movie is not for everyone, but I enjoyed it.
I have to agree with missflick on "Calvaire", that is by far the most unusual and/or disturbing movie I have ever seen so far.
I watched a movie on Monday that was weird just in the way it was presented. Has anyone seen "Vantage Point"? That movie is pretty good but it is weird because the time frame in the movie is about 20 minutes total. Basically you see a presidential assassination attempt through the eyes of about 10 different people. It is pretty different.
A really weird movie I have in mind is "Pans Labrynth"
That movie has some really weird s*#t in it. Like the fact that it's all in subtitles. And the most obvious reason of the scary, freaky creatures they made up. If I was that little girl in the movie i would have crapped my pants.
