I've joined this forum hoping to find some ideas and answers as a Scrubs fan, but not only.
See, I'm currently writing a M.A. dissertation on Scrubs seasons DVD Box Set. The exact
topic being "relations of domination between race, gender and social class in Scrubs (season 1)".
What I'm planning on is doing some passage analysis, relating them to contemporary US
society, with quotes from the scripts and video exerpts. I'm of course also looking into sociology
to explain what I think, that is : I think that the images hide some kind of criticism to deflate
common racial, sexual and class stereotypes.
What is your opinion on that?
Is Scrubs a fair, accurate representation of contemporary US society, or is it just about humor
and goofiness without any other dimension (basic entertainment) ?
